Why this campaign matters
Every year, 11 lakh children in Bihar leave school before finishing primary education, and across India more than 17% of children drop out at secondary level. In the villages where we work, the most common reason is money: families cannot afford school fees, uniforms, textbooks and stationery, so children leave school to work and help support their families.
How your donation helps
Your gift pays a child's school fees and provides what they need to keep learning: a uniform, textbooks, notebooks and stationery. With those costs covered, families can keep their children in class instead of sending them out to work.
How it works
- 1 Our volunteers contact school officials and village families to find children aged 6 to 15 who are at risk of dropping out.
- 2 We pay the child's school fees and provide a uniform, textbooks, notebooks and stationery.
- 3 We follow the child's progress through the school year.
- 4 You receive a report on what your gift paid for.
